Trade Waste offers a fully inclusive Battery Recycling Service for all types of batteries (Dry Cell, Alkaline & NiCad Batteries including AAA, AA, C, and D, up to a 50kg maximum capacity). Batteries should be disposed of carefully since they contain hazardous chemicals that leak and cause pollution of landfill sites and nearby water sources. Battery Safe FAQ

Do you supply waste transfer notes?2024-12-31T15:34:33+00:00

We send you electronic waste transfer notes or duty of care explaining where the waste has been collected and where it will go with our full details. This is emailed to you once the collection is completed.

Where do you dispose of the waste?2024-12-31T15:34:10+00:00

We operate our waste transfer station. The majority of operators have to tip their rubbish externally, which increases your cost. Luckily, we can keep our costs competitive for this reason. On some occasions, we do tip with other depots if the carbon footprint calculator advises this. The environmental agency and local authority manage all waste transfer stations. We also audit these sites to confirm up-to-date recycling rates.

What areas do you cover?2024-12-31T15:33:47+00:00

We cover the UK, although some areas are very remote, and a surcharge will be applied.

How can I book a service with you?2024-12-31T15:33:20+00:00

Please call us on 01442 229009 to book the service(s) you require. Our team are always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Which types of battery can be recycled by Trade Waste?2024-12-31T15:32:57+00:00

Our Battery Recycling Service is suitable for smaller types of batteries (Dry Cell, Alkaline & NiCad Batteries including AAA, AA, C and D).

Why should we recycle used batteries?2024-12-31T15:32:23+00:00

Here in the UK, we throw away an average of 600 million batteries every year! When batteries begin to rot away in landfill sites, these chemicals may leak into the ground, which can cause soil and water pollution. When chemicals contaminate soil, water, animals, and the environment can be harmed. Recycling is a great way to help protect the environment. Each battery sent for recycling will be taken apart, and the materials will be used to make something new.
